Þórunn Drífa was born and raised in Akranes. She has been knitting since ca. 1959. Started in needlework at school and then her mother did a lot of knitting and sewing. So there was always a lot of handicraft around her. She worked at the Akranes Hospital in a laboratory as a young woman but because of her husband's work she moved to the power plant at Steingrímsstöð and lived there for over 30 years. Was a cook at Landsvirkjun. She loves all needlework and knitting is never far away. The philosophy of life is that life is now. Pleasures are good company and travel.
